Is Google Allowing 40 Characters in Adwords Now?

Just saw this today, is Google expanding the Adwords character limit?

It has always been 35 characters including spaces to my knowledge but I’ve often wondered if it might expand sometime. Maybe Google are experimenting?

If so, it might attract more advertisers as it may be perceived as ‘easier’ to get a message across!

Looks like they used Keyword Insertion. Adwords has been known to go beyond the character limit with Keyword insertion when there is relevancy. No surefire way to use this. When I tested it, it was a hit or miss situation.

Brad Geddes says you can get extra characters using DKI, but I thought it was only 38.

Thanks guys – that first line has 43 characters so all up that is 83 characters in the two description lines while the normal limit would be 70. That goes way beyond the extra character or two we normally see with DKI.
